Farewell to Hunter S. Thompson

MSNBC News report that Hunter S. Thompson is no longer with us. He will be missed.

from AP/MSNBC - ASPEN, Colo. - Hunter S. Thompson, the acerbic counterculture writer who popularized a new form of fictional journalism in books like “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” fatally shot himself Sunday night at his home, his son said. He was 67.

I for one will miss him. The first book of his I read was 'Hells Angels' and amongst others I thoroughly enjoyed 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'.

Both books are timeless and will stay on my book shelf.

- My prayers and best wishes to his family and friends. -

This news just hit me like a ton of bricks! Hunter S. Thompson was a brilliant writer who I shall never forget. My own copy of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" is...shall we say, 'well loved'...and if anyone ever asked me what one of my all time favorite books was, I dare say that this would be one of them. I even went so far as to give one of my son's the name Hunter as a middle name...after Mr. Thompson. He will be sadly missed for sure!
