Zango - 180Solutions - Scams, Problems and Headaches!

Since I posted on Zango on Sept 30, 06 I've been getting a lot of visitors typing in "Daniel and the Bus" with or without "Zango" tagged on. I can only surmise that people get to the point I wrote about in my posting (Zango wants to download an .EXE file) and they back off to check it out first. Good for them!

~~~~~~~~~~~
UPDATE! - Some people coming by only want to see the video, Daniel and the Bus, and could care less about Zango. They know it is bad stuff. - So! here is a link to go see the video free for nothing! Without mucking up your computer. -
Some of the other stuff on this webpage is tawdry at best. Surf there at your own risk. Especially since Zango owns the site!
- http://"target="_blank">http://www.tacobomb.com/html/Guy-Jumps-Under-Bus.html -
For those wishing to know more about Zango continue reading...
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can only feel sorry for those who click to download and then install the program. It comes from a company that can only be described as disreputable at best.

Benjamin Edelman has a webpage entitled, The Effect of 180solutions on Affiliate Commissions and Merchants which says this:

Software from 180solutions (also known as MetricsDirect) redirects many affiliate commissions to 180. As a result, merchants pay commissions to 180 (and its advertiser partners) even when no commissions are payable under the terms and conditions of merchants' affiliate programs, and even when commissions are properly payable to other affiliates. 180 causes these commissions to be paid via at least 84 different affiliate accounts, using multiple intermediary domain names that redirect affiliate tracking HTTP traffic, making 180's activities particularly difficult to track and to prevent.

prying1 sez:
I'm not a brilliant person but that sounds disreputable to me. Some people think that 180solutions and Zango are trying to clean up their act but until they do and get a proven track record it is best to avoid them.

Quotes from Spywareinfo.com's Forums re: Zango

Zango.com is related to 180solutions, Inc. - a well known Adware supplier - we help plenty of people get 180solutions infections off their computers. Beware of installing anything from them - you may get more than you bargained for.

Like maybe the Zango Search Assistant? From Zango: "While the Software is installed on your computer, Zango may collect information about you and the websites you visit."

I had Zango on my PC, and at first thought it was a game site that my daughter had downloaded. For a couple days, I didn't bother looking into it, but then IE kept getting redirected to Zango.com at startup.

My firewall was screaming that a couple of .exe programs were attempting to send info out. I did not recognize the dns they were going to, so I ran SB S&D, Ad-Aware, and HiJack this and they discovered quite a few problems: Browser hijacker, adware, spyware, and the toolbar was loaded with ads which were always different.

I cleaned up all remnants of Zango, and the PC was fine again.

I would suggest re-thinking using Zango.

Schwarzenegger On Jay Leno's Tonight Show

But Not Phil Angelides

Most people have heard by now that California has a "STAR" for a governor.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

As governors go he has had his ups and downs. Some things he has done were good in my opinion and other things he has done were pretty stinky. That is once again in my opinion.

Since I'm always right we will hold my opinion in high esteem and run with the previous paragraph. (Please don't quiz my wifey-poo on me being always right. She might bring up that one time...) Ignore the fact that what I thought stinky the libs loved & vice versa...

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-Calif.) appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno - 11 OCT 06 -

What will not be on Jay Leno's show (at least at this point in time) is a rebuttal performance by Phil Angelides who is running against Arnold.

The Phil Angelides campaign said the television show is being unfair, and a California congressman filed a complaint on Phil Angelides' behalf with the Federal Communications Commission. - - More here from NBC4 TV - - The idiot campaign operatives WANT Phil Angelides to go on the Tonight Show!

Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-Calif.) is currently leading over the Angelides campaign with double digits.

If The Tonight Show With Jay Leno had Philly Baby (not to be confused with Philly Cheese Steak) come on the show three things would happen.

1: Half the audience would fall asleep.
2: The other half would switch to Letterman.
3. Arnold's lead would go to triple digits.

I say in the interest of fairness NBC should let Phil Angelides go onstage with Jay Leno! Better yet, AMERICA should demand they do so! After all. Many people who watch Jay Leno are not old enough to know who Mr. Peepers is and this would give them a chance to see what they missed by being born so late in the last century.

(Guess which one is running for the Governator's job?)

Angelides promises to run the California into the same dirt that produced the tainted spinich. California can expect higher taxes, drivers licenses for illegals, higher wages for union members which is all the state has for it's employees and most likely will Phil Angelides will pull any National Guard off their current border duties...

He would do all this and more after mesmerizing into an opiate like stupor every living creature in the state.

"One Night With the King" Looks Promising

One Night with the King - The Story of Esther -

I just found and watched the preview and it looks like one of the Hollywood spectacles that old timers like me are likely to enjoy.

It has swords in it so I'm sure Hugh Hewitt and Emmett of the Unblinking Eye will approve. Looks to have romance too but hopefully the sword scenes will make up for that.

- Rated PG with the notice, "Violence, Some Sensuality and Thematic Elements. -

When I read the words Thematic Elements on the ratings notice I had to ask, "What the heck does that mean?" - I could figger out the violence & sensuality on my own but this was new to me. It has probably only been around for 10 years or so. - Anyway! So I did a search engine run on it. - Here is what I found on the Motion Picture Association of America's web pages:

(from F.A.Q. page)

- Question: I have noticed "thematic elements" in the rating reasons - what does that mean?

Answer: Thematic elements are those elements of a film that do not necessarily fit into the traditional categories such as violence, sex, drug use and language, but may be of particular concern to parents. This rating reason raises a warning to parents to learn more about a film before they allow their children to view it. These thematic elements may include death, coming-of-age issues, verbal abuse, illness, abortion, and other serious subjects or mature discussions that some parents feel may not be appropriate for their young children.

Looks to me to be a rather vague term to use in rating pictures. I tried to see on their pages why "Thematic Elements" was used for this picture but could not find anything to even give a clue. - I thought, "Maybe they want to warn Muslum parents that it is a positive story about Jews." -

Then, in my search for more I hit a web page and remembered I had heard of "Thematic Elements" before. Nehring the Edge posted on the movie Facing the Giants with his article, "JESUS LOVES YOU BUT HOLLYWOOD THINKS YOU’RE A JERK" and the link he provided to the news article that used the term.

I did find a page of reviews from some real live people (not paid critics) that have seen the movie. - This site the reviews are on - IMDb "The Internet Movie Database" - is a good one for U.S. visitors to bookmark because it has movie theatres searchable by zip code. What's showing (with links on the titles), phone numbers and times. - Pretty handy -

Did I get sidetracked?

I guess so.

Here is the link to the trailer! Watching it sold me on seeing it on the big screen. Filmed in India so the palaces are real and not sets. Looks to be a real good film.

See you at the movies!

Timing is Everything!

I was told this story by a co-worker at a place I worked years ago. Oh, I should mention the co-worker just happened to be black. That is an integral part of the story. I'll call my co-worker Jim because

1. To protect the innocent and

2. I've forgotten his name.

Jim was born and raised in So. California. Los Angeles County to be more exact. This story takes place in the very early 60's. I'm telling it as I remember it but you should know know I heard it in the early 80's. The conversation recounted might not be exact the the meaning was there...

One summer when Jim was 9-10 years old he was sent to visit his grandparents and family in Little Rock, Arkansas. He got to play with cousins and neighborhood children and had a really good time. Until one day a two white boys riding on a single bicycle came into the black neighborhood. One was sitting on the handlebars, had a BB gun and was shooting it off. He hit Jim's girl cousin in the face with a BB.

Jim saw which way they were heading and took off through a couple yards. On his way he found a loose board and picked it up. As the boys on the bicycle rounded a corner they were confronted by Jim with his board.

Thwock!

The kid on the handlebars was hit in the face with that board. A tangle of white boys and bicycle with a black boy smacking them. About this time one of the neighbors came out and grabbed Jim and dragged him away to his grandparents house. Jim didn't realize what he had done. For a black boy in early 60's Arkansas to hit a white boy with a board, a fist or a marshmallow was a capital offense. Even if he was defending his cousin against a BB gun.

This was the point in time that they told him that he would be killed for hitting a white boy. Jim was scared and didn't understand. In California where he was from black and white kids played together and sometimes would fight without all this broohaha. They would fight, stop fighting and go back to playing. Why was it so different here?

Jim's grandparents hid him at another neighbor's house while they dealt with the police and as soon as it got dark they had friends drive him out of the city. He told me of how confused and scared he was as he was hiding in the back seat covered with a blanket and trash. They took him to Texas and put him on a bus for home.

So much for a fun summer vacation at grandma's and grandpa's house.

Fast forward to the very late 70's. Jim is visiting his grandparents in Little Rock. Enough time had passed and he no longer resembled the little black boy that whacked a white boy. Besides, Arkansas had changed quite a bit. The entire country had changed quite a bit. Dr. Martin Luther King had made his 'I have a dream speech' and it took hold. People were working on judging other people not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. By all means racism had not ended but it was riding the back bumper not driving the car.

Jim, decided to go to the movies one day. While he was sitting in the movie theatre, waiting for the movie to start, more people coming in, a white man entered the theatre and sat next to him. No longer were the drinking fountains and rest rooms labled white and black. In Little Rock a white man and black man could sit side by side in a movie theatre. No shouts of nigger lover resounded as would have in previous years.

He and the white gentleman started a conversation. Usual small talk. Jim from California. Other guy born and raised in Little Rock. It turned onto the subject of changes in attitudes concerning the races in America.

Jim told him of his previous visit to little Rock and of the kid with the BB gun and him with the plank.

That was when the man said, "I'm so glad to meet you. I've felt so bad ever since that day I shot at your cousin and you whacked me with the board. I was a real little ass and have regretted my actions of that day. I was worried they would find you and kill you because of me and was real glad you got away. I want to tell you I'm sorry for what I did."

Jim apologised for whacking him with the board and the two were able to watch the movie together with uplifted hearts.

They left the theatre as friends.

Reconciliation can do wonders for the soul!

prying1 sez: Was it a coincidence that these two, nearly 20 years after the offense were able to get a burden off their hearts? I think not. - Divine appointments are great. - This was one of them.

Pretty Spiffy Hand Drier

Ever go into a restroom and after washing your hands turn to find one of those air hand driers? No paper towels. Just the air drier. I hate that. It means precious time standing there with soggy hands for 30-40 seconds. AND you know they won't be dry when you leave the rest room. Hey! 30-40 seconds of valuable time I could be doing anything else but standing there not getting my hands dry.

For guys this really isn't too big a problem because we have shirts to wipe our hands on unless we are at some wedding reception and forced to wear a suit. Then we have to dry our hands on the back of our shirt under our jackets. There is always the toilet paper which instantly turns to sludge and sticks to the hands or the disposable toilet seat covers which are not really absorbant. I don't know how the ladies handle it because I'm too much of a gentleman to ask 'em...

Well! The solution is coming to a gas station and restaurant near you real soon (I hope). You might want to get one for your home. Although you will have to wait a bit. As of the time of this posting it is still in the testing stages in hospitals, several restaurants and service stations across the pond in the UK.

It is the DYSON AIRBLADE HAND DRIER!

Short video here!

Mr James Dyson, the inventor, says, "The Airblade scrapes your hands clean with a high speed sheet of air,...It's a bit like a windscreen wiper."

The air shoots out of two slots the width of a human hair at 400 MPH (640 kph) and all the water forced off is sterilized with an iodine filter Then the water is atomised into the air.

The old hand driers suck in dirty washroom air - heat it up - blow it back onto clean hands and so clean hands end up exposed to washroom bacteria.

This device takes only 10 seconds to dry your hands. That saves 20 to 30 seconds! Not only that. This device will actually get your hands dry.

Thank You Mr. Dyson!

eXlinks Is In Prelaunch Phase

I'm signed up with Blog Mad and have found their blog surfing services (Trading Blog visits with other bloggers) to be quite good. - The folks there are reputable. Good rate of exchange for your blog surfing time. Plus some wonderful bloggers reside there so you will most likely make friends.

PLUS!!! Customer service is quick! I always appreciate that in any online service. I've seen some outfits (Small Ones & Ultra Big Ones Too!) that don't answer emails for 4-5 days (if at all). Recently Blog Mad had various difficult issues (more than once - It is still in Beta) that were quickly and efficiently handled in such a way that, although there was temporary discomfort, service was quick to fix the problems and I believe the majority of folks were satisfied.

If you are not yet signed up with Blog Mad here is your chance. Simply click here to join!

Well Blog Mad is currently offering membership in a new program they are getting off the ground called eXlinks. Click Here to join in on the Prelaunch Signup!

Their advert says,

- quote - The basis of how it all fits together will become clear when we go Beta, but essentially we are going to go out and build small networks of friends, referrals, bloggers, website owners and basically anyone with an online interest who wants any of the following;

i) Readers
ii) visitors
iii) Traffic
iv) better search engine ranking

At this point we really do not want to get into how we plan on fitting it all together but we do promise that it will be worth it. Very much so. - end quote -

When they will go active is not revealed. They are working on getting enough people signed up then they will "Let 'er rip!"

If you decide later to join there is now a link on my sidebar that will give you easy access. - I'd suggest getting in early in case of extra bonuses they will give for the first folks to sign up in the prelaunch.

I dug a little deeper and this really looks legit. I'm still not sure what it is or what it does or how it works but the few minutes signup time may turn into something really good for you and your blog!

Zango? Questionable Practices? You Decide!

~~~~~~~~~~~
UPDATE! - Some people coming by only want to see the video, Daniel and the Bus, and could care less about Zango. They know it is bad stuff. - So! here is a link to go see the video free for nothing! Without mucking up your computer. -
Some of the other stuff on this webpage is tawdry at best. Surf there at your own risk. Especially since Zango owns the site!
- http://"target="_blank">http://www.tacobomb.com/html/Guy-Jumps-Under-Bus.html -
For those wishing to know more about Zango continue reading...
~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was planning on posting a bit on the Military Commissions Act - The U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives have passed this new legislation proposed by President Bush on the treatment and trials of terror suspects in U.S. custody. It is expected the President will sign it into law soon (If he hasn't already).

But as I was surfing for more information I came across a Guardian Unlimited (UK) webpage that had a short Macromedia Flash shot. "YOU WON'T BELIEVE YOUR EYES" it says. Then it shows a kid running in front of a bus and laying down in front of it. Looks lke his plan is to be lying between the bus wheels as it passes over him. "SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH." in the middle of the advert is a forward arrow (>) for you to see what happens next.

Not being squeamish I clicked on it and a new window opened for ZANGO.com whose slogan is, "With Zango – You’re Good to Go(TM)" - They also give this blurb - Zango offers a vast network of free ad-supported games, videos and downloads powered by proprietary and revolutionary time-shifted advertising technology. Zango allows users, publishers, content providers and advertisers to connect within one unique online community. - Also on the page was a lot of screenshots of various videos you can watch.

Hey, there is the not too smart kid labeled, "Daniel and the bus". OK click on it and...

Another page pops up.

Big button says WATCH - OK. Click on that and...

Another window pops up for me to download some software called "Setup.exe".

It must be safe right? I mean the Guardian Unlimited (UK) would not send me to a website that would download bad software on my computer would they? - But! Maybe I should be digging a little deeper before I click on this one. (Didja notice how I got my slogan in that last sentence? Pretty spiffy huh?)

Ok, The quick version. On the page where the word WATCH is most prominent is a lot of info in smaller type. At this point Zango is looking to download, free for nothing, a TOOLBAR and SEARCH ASSISTANT.

- quotes -
Zango Toolbar, accessible whenever you browse the Internet, may display ads within the Toolbar itself based upon keywords from your Internet browsing. Buttons in the Toolbar let you access relevant offers.

- Zango Search Assistant (Zango SA) provides free access to Daniel and the Bus and all Zango-supported content across the Internet and, in exchange, may display to you several ads per day based upon keywords from your Internet browsing. These ads will pop up on your computer screen in a separate browser window.
- end quotes -

On this page is a box PRECHECKED to say "By clicking watch, I represent that I (1) am at least 18, (2) agree to the terms of the EULA above and (3) consent to access Daniel and the Bus."

Digging a little deeper (Hey! My slogan fit in this post again! This time with a cap!) I found one complaint of difficulty in removing the installed program (Could have looked harder and expect I would have found more) and I've found that a lot of Myspace users have been putting some cool little video clips on their websites. Pasting the code for the moviefile into the Myspace profile and having it autoplay when someone visits the page, is enough to have the licence prompt appear.

vitalsecurity.org
has a piece on this outfit that questions the prechecked box.
- Quote - Myspace is (or was) all about the kids, right? Minimum age is now 14, their "safety tips" page links to a bunch of sites called Safeteens, Webwisekids and Netsmartz. Browse around randomly and it's confirmed. Kids, kids, kids.

Which just makes the pre-ticked checkbox for the Zango installer (18 or over) even more ironic and useless than it already is when applied to a landscape like this. Of course, videofiles that launch Adware aren't a new thing - though creating a distribution method like this is pretty inventive. - End Quote -

I guess this posting is just a reminder to be careful out there. If you don't mind Adware and search redirects then go for it. I'm not putting any links to Zango on this posting. - You will have to go digging a little deeper to find it yourself...

Hey! Three times on one posting!

Elections Offer Us A Choice

"Politics is the best show in America," Will Roger's said. "I love animals and I love politicians and I like to watch both of 'em play either back home in their native state or after they have been captured and sent to a zoo or Washington."*

prying1 sez:

This mid term election might seem to be a bit wilder than previous ones but in reality all election cycles are quite similar. Both sides taking pot shots at one another trying to convince the public that they have the winning combination for happiness and prosperity.

This time there is a bit of difference because our nation is at war. Not at war with other nations but with an ideology that wants to rule the world. The proponents of this ideology have so stated. With a religion as it's foundation terrorists & Islamofacists are working worldwide to foment unrest throughout the worldwide Muslum communities. Seeking to blame anything but human nature & the Muslum religion itself for any misfortune or slights they continually point their fingers towards the west and shout, "There is your enemy!" Many Muslums believe them instead of looking in their own hearts and realizing that they carry their own enemy within their breasts. As do all men who are son's (and daughters) of Adam.

This election cycle it really comes down to two parties of opposing viewpoints.

The Libertarians have yet to count for much of anything so I won't even include them in this diatribe. So it goes.

~~~~~
The Democrats want to convince America that the entire escalation of worldwide terrorism is Bush's fault. Included in this tactic is claims that the image of the United States has tarnished significantly throughout the world as a result of President Bush. Their rhetoric does not explain why terrorism started long before Bush took office nor why so many people around the world are still vying to come to America.
I remember as a child, many moons ago, pictures of graffiti on walls in third world countries stating, "Yankee go home!"
Certainly Bush is not to blame for either allegation. Let's blame the escalation of worldwide terrorism on the terrorists and those who listen to and follow their twisted teachings. As regards the image. Offer those who 'hate' America a free ticket to visit and see how quick they snap it up. I think most of that is really jealosy not hatred.
Many of the Democrats want to pull out of Iraq either quickly or slowly. Their solution leaves a weak country wide open to become a terrorist state. The peoples of that land would be murdered by the millions just as happened in Vietnam when the U.S. pulled out. This is not a viable solution and they really have come up with no other plans except verbage that is really a reworded "Stay the course" as Bush has repeatedly stated.
They keep promising A PLAN and keep coming up with a list of what the plan will be about. Should Americans vote for a list? I think not!
~~~~~

The Republican party sees terrorism as a threat that will not go away with talking pretty and convincing the world we are really nice guys. All the economic and local issues pale in comparison to the global threat of terrorism. Indeed, worldwide commerce would suffer (not to mention tourism - some country's main staple) if the terrorists were allowed to continue running roughshod over the poorer nations. Know too they would not stop at the poorer nations. Europe already has it's problems that are only going to intensify. Savings accounts and retirement funds would come to naught if the terrorists got halfway to their stated goals. The war on terrorism is the main thing to consider this election cycle.

Voting for Democrats will be voting to put the war off for a few years. Until it comes to our shores. AFTER it has decimated millions in poorer countries.

Voting Republican will be voting to utilize sources (phone/bank records etc...) the Democrats do not want us to use in the fight against terrorism.

Bleeding Heart Liberals Won't Like This One

Got this in an email that was not caught in my spam box:

Subject: Problem solving

Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use. The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants! That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down. If you think this is a good solution to both the problems, forward it to your friends. I just did.
__________________________________________________

Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq.

Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.

After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot.

This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.

If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo.

Problem solved.

Terrorists Are the Barbarians Not the U.S.

Another comment I wrote elsewhere brought to the top.

I spend so long typing I figure I should get some miles from my fingertips. Leaving my comments to be buried in yesterdays posts on other people's blogs is not a good use of my time.

Layout: Other person thinks that the U.S. has violated the Geneva Conventions. A reply to my previous comment stated:
- Quote - Prying - you assume all of the people you don't care about being tortured will be shadowy Muslims who you'd hate anyway. There is already one case of a mistake being made with a Canadian citizen. What happens when you or one of your friends or relatives also becomes such a 'mistake'? Will you still support barbarity? Torture is as wrong today as it was 500 years ago. It marks the decline of civilization - and I seriously question the morality of those who find it attractive.
~~~ end quote ~~~
I failed to mention in my reply below that I do not find torture attractive in any way shape or form.
I do think and it has been shown to be true that sometimes valuable information that has saved lives has been obtained by experts in the field of questioning enemy combatants.
Comment follows:
Whether you like it or not we are at war. The terrorists will not stop their actions until they win. They have so stated and their goal is the entire world being dominated 100% by their religion and their religion only . All others must die. I've read they hope for the 12th Imam - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelver -, who will prompt a global. battle between good and evil.. This includes your home town. Don't believe me. Listen to what they say!
Part of war is getting information from enemy combatants that are captured. Will mistakes be made in who we consider to be enemy combatants?? YES! Will our side work to minimize those mistakes? YES! Will the terrorists side care whether they make mistakes in who they target? NO!
They have shown us what they do to anyone that they want to torture. They take videos and post them on the internet. We found two U.S. soldiers that by accounts I've read had their penis' cut off and stuffed in their mouths. Along with other dismemberment.
I do not believe that the opponents of terrorism (our side) will torture their people (Murderous fanatical terrorists) the same way they torture not only ours but some of their own too!
Have some of our team tortured prisoners beyond what our rules of engagement call for? No doubt, but they are punished when caught. Terrorists are praised by their side when they torture people. No matter who they torture...
President Bush wants the rules spelled out so that our side can get the information from enemy combatants within the limits of our laws. As it stands now the Geneva rules do not even allow tickling...
Is it so wrong to want the rules spelled out? Or should we let all detainees go forth to murder again just because there MIGHT have been a mistake?
You asked, "What happens when you or one of your friends or relatives also becomes such a 'mistake'? Will you still support barbarity?"
I'll reply with my own question. When you find your friends and relatives being tortured by terrorists will you wonder if something more should have been done to stop them?
Bush's Plot More Nefarious Than Previously Thought!
Breaking News from Ripe News Service -
It has been found that President Bush did not attack Iraq for oil as has been reported since the day of the initial invasion. That story was a straw dog designed to deceive even the very elect of the "Progressive Liberal Democrats". Ripe News Service has now discovered the truth behind the invasion. Oil was high on the list of reasons Bush lied to fool congress into backing his attack on the poor misjudged Sadamm Huesein
BUT...
The real reason was WATER!
A nephew of a senator (who shall remain unnamed) today revealed revelations from a Secret Whitehouse Memo. "I got it from a very reputable source", he said.
It came from a Household Engineer who works in Washington D.C.. She goes out with a Food Preparation Manager that knows a Food Preparation Engineer who has a neice that has a nephew (different from the first one) that is on the staff that empties waste receptacles at the Whitehouse. This Secret Whitehouse Memo traveled quite a distance before someone realized it's value. Found was an odiferous slip of paper with the words, "Bottled Water" heading it. Key code words such as, 'White Bread', 'Dressing (oil and vinegar)', and 'Dry Cleaners' also showed the value of the Secret Whitehouse Memo. The nephew of a senator (who shall remain unnamed) realized the importance of the slip of paper as soon as he saw it on eBay. He quickly put in a proxy bid (for an unrevealed amount) that won the auction. The closing bid was $18.75.
"Some guy named Bidjumper kept nudging it up but he didn't get anywhere near my proxy."
Once the nephew of a senator (who shall remain unnamed) got the unostentatious Secret Whitehouse Memo the tough task of deciphering it became an obsession
"It was tough to figure it out at first", said the nephew of a senator (who shall remain unnamed), "But once I got past the first part of the code it all fell into place. The trick was I had to ignore a lot of extra stuff that was put on the Secret Whitehouse Memo. It wasn't quite enough to fool this prying one."
"'White Bread' is what those racists in the Bush Regime are going to be making. They won't share any of it with people of color. Colin and Condi won't see a dime of it. The 'Dressing' is the lies they told to get the war in Iraq initiated. 'Oil and vinegar' is oil (That almost stumped me) and the vinegar is the WMD's! 'Dry Cleaners' is where they are taking the entire country of Iraq since they they ousted the pitiable one true elected ruler if Iraq."
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!
It has now been proven beyond anyones doubt, through ships manifests and logs, that it is not oil that is being shipped to the United States from Iraq but water. Halliburton is playing a major role in directing the Euphrates to the secret loading docks where the U.S. Navy boats are illegally being used to transport the ill-gotten booty.
The fact that the U.S. Navy boats are doing this illegally was verified by the suspicious answer given to our reporters on the scene in Iraq. They found one U.S sailor, who refused to identify himself but said, "Heck! Their just flushing the heads. What are you talking about?"
THE TRUTH REVEALED!
"That's why the Secret Whitehouse Memo was headed off with 'Bottled water"! said the excitable nephew of a senator (who shall remain unnamed). The whole plan is to corner the bottled water industry. They got all that water from the Euphrates and they are scooping it all up. Heck! They aren't even boiling it before they stick it in the jugs. People in America need to check the labels of the bottled waters they are buying. If you find an 'R' in a circle that means Republican. Don't buy it. Iraqi fish have peed in it!"
prying1 sez:
This story has been verified through various Urban Legend websites including Snopes.com - You might have to dig a little deeper to find it and piece it together with bits and pieces from various urban legends but the whole truth is in there. It took me hours to find it all. A word here and half a sentence there...
You don't need to waste your time looking though.
Just trust me...
I Was Heartened
When I was blog surfing on BlogSoldiers (note new link on the right side panel just above My Favorite Links) tonight I came across a blogger from the UK. The pic he had up caught my attention. It was obviously a baptism ceremony in what appeared to be a manmade lake.
What heartened me was this paragraph:
While out for a walk in the countryside last weekend I came across an unusual site. A group of about 50 Iranians were standing next to a lake in Sussex witnessing the baptism of two adults who had converted to Christianity from Islam.
Iraqi Chiefs Stand Up Against Terrorsm
AubreyJ gets a hat tip on this one -
BBC News -
Iraq chiefs vow to fight al-Qaeda - Iraqi tribal chiefs in the so-called Sunni Triangle have agreed to join forces to fight al-Qaeda, and have pleaded for US supplies of arms. -
One leader said tribes in the city of Ramadi had assembled 20,000 men "ready to purge the city of these infidels".
Ramadi, in Anbar province, is one of the cities at the heart of the Sunni rebellion against US troops and Iraqis.
At least 33 people were killed in two bomb attacks in Iraq on Monday, police said, including 13 in Ramadi.
According to one report, a suicide bomber attacked volunteers who were queuing up at an Iraqi police recruitment centre in the city.
~~~~~

"People are fed up with the acts of those criminals who take Islam as a cover for their crimes," ... "The situation in the province is unbearable, the city is abandoned, most of the families have fled the city and all services are poor." Sheik Fassal al-Guood (AP)

15 out of 18 tribes in Ramadi "have sworn to fight those who are killing Sunnis and Shiites" "20,000 young men" are commited to join in the battle against the terrorists.

"We have now entered a real battle. It's either us or them," - Sheikh Sattar al-Buzayi (Reuters)

Comment To Misunderstanding the Threat

Once again I find myself leaving a comment on another person's blog that I find to be so eloquent that I cannot resist bringing it here. - Since I wrote it and this is my blog I am going to!

Scenario - Donald Douglas of Burkean Reflections had a wonderful post on

"The controversial new drama, "The Death of a President,"

- (Good read - Go to it AFTER you finish reading this...)

Concerning the movie that shows the murder of a sitting president

'Jessica'
had this to say in comments to Mr. Douglas:

quote -

"We don't want him dead, just out of office so he can stop ruining this country.

Reason is the enemy of faith, my friend."

- end quote -

I went to Jessica's blog through the link and saw a lot of pretty pictures plus one posting that was her only tribute to 9-11 Snowden's Secret - (Go there after you read this if you have time to waste...)

On it I left this comment which I dedicate to all those who oppose killing of terrorists:

quote - (With some spelling corrections)

I quoted from Catch 22 today on a comment on another persons blogsite.

Catch 22 itself is apropos for the situation the U.S., and indeed, the entire world is in concerning civilization and the terrorist fanatics that hate and will destroy you and yours (and me and mine, and his and hers, and them and theirs) unless good people stand up against them...

There is no other way out of this one just as in WWII the U.S. had to stand against Hitler or eventually give in to his philosophy of life.

What difference is there in the philosophies? Jews are worthless except as slaves and anyone against the ideology is to be killed. Even those in favor of the ideology that get in the way are killed...

People (soldiers and civilians both) die standing against them. Some will die while walking away from them. But the world will be in a better position to live in freedom than it would be by allowing terrorists to put a knife to everyones throat without resistance!

Your quote from Catch 22 is not quite apropos for the 9-11 Twin Tower murders. "The spirit gone, man is garbage. That was Snowden's secret."

Except!

Those who died in the Towers, the Pentagon, The Field in Pennsylvania, in Afghanistan, Spain, England, Philippines, Bali, U.S.S. Cole, Embassies around the world, Crippled in a wheel chair and Jewish on a cruise ship, Bali, Robert Kennedy, Somalia, Gaza, Israel, Turkey, France, Africa, Egypt, Scotland etc. etc. etc. are not garbage.

They all have spirits that live on. Even if there were no afterlife (as there truly is) they would live on. The heroism, cowardice, love, hate, forgiveness,unforgiveness will remain behind them. Both the victims and their suicide bomber murderers will live on. Besides in soul & spirit they will live on in those that knew them.

Some people will acclaim the suicide bombers as the heroes. Most, I hope, will not. While not all the victims were 'heroes' most of them had people that truly loved them and appreciated them. Human frailties faults and all...

What saddens me is that there are now people that hate Bush more than they hate the terrorists actions that caused deaths of innocents such as we see posted about in the '2996 tributes'.
-
http://www.dcroe.com/2996/?page_id=2 -

Please don't reply to this saying the death of Iraqi's and their blood is on Bush's hands.

The majority of Iraqi deaths have been and will continue to be at the hands of Islamofacists... - This is not "Bush's War". It is a war of the world against an ideology that promises to control planet earth. Listen to their claims. That is what they want. That is what Democrats will give them!

God have mercy on planet earth if Michael Moore and his ilk win in the next election cycle...

End quote -

prying1 sez: When will they ever learn? Political correctness is not healthy for children and other living things!

Muslims Prove Point of Byzantine Christian Emperor Manuel Paleologos II

I was raised Catholic but left it for non-denominational Christianity in the very early 70's. I say this to let you know I do not consider the Pope the successor of Saint Peter 'heir apparent' in direct line with St. Peter nor do I believe in Papal infallibility.

I will still defend the Pope on his right to quote from the Emperor Manuel Paleologos II or any other emperor or pauper for that matter. He can quote from Anton LaVey's Satanic Bible if he so chooses.

For those who missed it:

The pope quoted from a book recounting a conversation between 14th century Byzantine Christian Emperor Manuel Paleologos II and a Persian scholar on the truths of Christianity and Islam.

"The emperor comes to speak about the issue of jihad, holy war," the Pope said.

"He said, I quote, 'Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached,'"

Most news sites I read stopped short of adding the following lines -
- Link Here -
But in reiterating his concerns about a modern world "deaf" to God, he warned that other religious cultures saw the West's exclusion of God "as an attack on their most profound convictions".

"A reason which is deaf to the divine and which relegates religion into the realm of subcultures is incapable of entering into the dialogue of cultures," he said.

This is what the Pope quoted the emperor as saying, stated himself and the majority of the speech is not being reported. The section on Islam was very short... He did not explicitly agree with nor repudiate the quote.

Benedict said "I quote" twice to stress the words were not his and added that violence was "incompatible with the nature of God and the nature of the soul".

~~~~~
Turkey's top Islamic cleric, Religious Affairs Directorate head Ali Bardakoglu, asked Benedict on Thursday to apologize about the remarks and unleashed a string of accusations against Christianity, raising tensions before the pontiff's planned visit to Turkey in November on what would be his first papal pilgrimage in a Muslim country.
- News link here -
So Ali Bardakoglu can unleash "a string of accusations against Christianity" but the Pope can't quote from an old book!
~~~~~~

"We do not accept the apology through Vatican channels . . . and ask him to offer a personal apology . . . to Muslims for this false reading (of Islam)," Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah told worshippers in his Friday prayers sermon.

Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah shows his devoted followers how to walk in forgiveness...

~~~~~~
"Anyone who describes Islam as a religion as intolerant encourages violence," Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said.
She should have added, "We won't tolerate being called intolerant!"
~~~~~~

"Muslims have the right to be angry and hurt by these comments from the highest cleric in Christianity," Qaradawi said on Al Jazeera.

Qaradawi shows his ignorance of "OTHER" religions. The pope is the 'highest cleric' in Catholicism. There is no HIGHEST CLERIC in Christianity. - Muslums need to learn how to shake it off and let 'Allah' defend himself. Isn't that what floods, tsunamis and earthquakes are for?

~~~~~
The Pope's comments were a hot topic on a pro-Hamas radio show for children.
"What do you say about the man who said some bad words about Islam and the Prophet Mohammad?" the radio host asked eight-year-old Hanin.
"He is ugly and his words are ugly," she answered.
Don't teach you children to pray for the "salvation" of peoples souls. Don't teach them to pity and feel sorry for those "outside of the faith'. Heaven forbid you should teach your children to get over it. There will be people that disagree with your faith and way of life...
prying1 sez: I Thank God there has been no rioting yet however Friday, a Greek Orthodox church youth center in the Gaza Strip was slightly damaged due to a small explosion which broke doors and shattered glass. The church itself was not damaged and there were no injuries. - It cannot be shown to be a result of the Popes statements.
These statements from Muslum people that should (or perhaps do) know better are more inflamatory than the Pope's speech. Especially when you put the Pope's words back into context.
August of 04 car bomb attacks on five Catholic churches in Iraq brought out Muslim bigwigs to say things like the following:
"We regret that such criminal acts have targeted our Christian brothers and we urge them to display restraint as did before their Muslim brothers, when their mosques and holy places were targeted as well," spokesman Mohammad Bashar Al-Faidi told a press conference in Baghdad.
Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani, the country's most revered Shiite Muslim spiritual leader, also condemned the attacks.
"We denounce and condemn those terrible crimes... We should all, government and people, be working together in order to put an end to the attacks against Iraqis," said a statement from his office in the holy city of Najaf .
Where were the Muslums with signs and denouncing the terrorists then?
Where are they now???
URB is the Word!
How often do you get to watch as a brand new word is sprung upon an unsuspecting world? Even less often do you get to see a whole new language emerge. Of course along with this is a completely new line of products to spruce up your wardrobe and wonderfully enhanced coffee mugs to give a new uplift to your caffeine consumption.
It is all happening at David W. Boles' Urban Semiotic - Your one
stop blogging center for fun, insight and intelligence. (Disclaimer: If
at any point you find you cease to have fun, disagree with David's
insight and question his intelligence take it up with him. I refuse to
enter into familial arguments.)
Here is what happened.
Yesterday David wrote an article on the word Sha!
Goffman-esque Response Cries: Is Sha! the New Duh?
David says, "Sha! - is not a word, I only learned how to spell it by watching it appear on blogs - and it appears to be an emotional utterance, or more formally: "A Response Cry"
and
Here's what I've discovered about Sha!'s common utterances when I hear it used on the street:
"Are you dating my Boo?"
"Uh, Sha!"
The "Sha!-er's" head is usually cocked to one side when uttering the cry.
I've also heard it used this way, too:
"I never liked you!"
"Sha! huh!"
On blogs - usually written by pre-teens and older people who know better - "Sha!" loses some of its urgent street creed when it becomes an internal thought outwardly expressed...
In the posting he questioned what new word would come along to replace "Sha!" which is replacing "Duh!".
Then the comments started.
It was suggested that the...
Well, here is the comment as originally posted by yours truly, prying1:
~~~~~
Perhaps the next bit of slang will be, "Urb".

Short for 'urbansemiotic.com' and meaning, "A really great blog with highly intelligent posts."
~~~~~
This bit of sucking up was taken by the bloghost and turned into a movement. David has refined the definition to be: "URB indicates insight and intelligence found on the Urban Semiotic blog!"
For more information I suggest you visit David Boles' Urban Semiotics -
URB is the Word!
At this point URB on Google Search has 11,100,000 hits - Most are repetition links to some jerks that mis-used the word URB
but have not taken it to it's full potential... How soon before David's
blog hits #1 on the
Google hit list???
Is Political Correctness Dying At Last?
Newsflash: Governor Schwarzenegger (R-CA) says a Latina
lawmaker has a "hot" mix of black and Latino blood.
It was suggested from the context that Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia was being described in this,
"sexual"
target="_blank">(Dolores Huerta)
"racist" and "disgusting"
(target="_blank">Rep. D-Oakland -
target="_blank">Barbara Lee) statement.
Art
Torres
said he was "offended and disturbed" by the comments.
Assemblywoman
Bonnie Garcia (R-Cathedral City), the same woman the California
governor's comment was about, undercut the noise when she lauded
Schwarzenegger.
"I love the governor because he is a straight
talker just like I am," Garcia said to the Times. "Very often I tell
him, 'Look, I am a hot-blooded Latina.' I label myself a hot-blooded
Latina that is very passionate about the issues, and this is kind of an
inside joke that I have with the governor."
Long story short it was some Democratic opposition wannabe guvner Phil Angelides
target="_blank">'campaign staffers' that found and
downloaded four hours of audio files from the ca.gov computer. The
governors office said they got past passwords and therefore hacked the
"unauthorized" information.Angelides camp says it was available for the world to find. No hacking was done.
Time will tell on that point. The CA Highway Patrol are on it...
What I would like to point out is that the Poolitically Correct Crud, ooops, I mean Crowd, lost out big on this one. Even before the possible hacking by the Angelides camp hit the news this was a dead story.
As Daniel Weintraub says in his opinion article, "On the surface at least, the reaction last week to the revelation of some intemperate private remarks by Gov.
Arnold Schwarzenegger might have looked like a classic case of partisan politics gone wild. The real story, though, was not how harshly some Democrats responded to Schwarzenegger's comments, but how many prominent Democrats instead leaped to the Republican governor's defense.
Weintraub goes on to say, "Schwarzenegger is a people person who spends time tending to personal connections -- in part because he enjoys doing so, but also because he knows his fellow politicians are grateful when he poses for photos with their families or places a call to one of their friends at a crucial moment. Those private moments allow lawmakers to know him as a person, not just as a governor who vetoes their bills more often than they might like."
This may very well be true but I'd like to add that people are tired of the Poolitically Correct Anti-Freedom of Speech Nazis telling them they cannot enjoy the
differences of people through stereotyping. Making fun of people does not hurt anyones feelings in 93.28% of the occurrences.
Which reminds me that 86% of all statistics are made up on the spur of the moment. I think it was 86%. Migh have been 93.28%. I get those numbers mixed up sometimes...
~~~~~~~

This is to let the world know that I for one will keep making fun of the Scots,

Which reminds me. Did you hear of the Scotsman who lost 'alf a creeewn down a sewer?

It took him a week to wash up...

and the French,

"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting
without your accordion."

— Norman Schwartzkopf -

and the English and Scootish again,

A Scotsman, an Englishman and Claudia Schiffer were
sitting together in a carriage in a train going through Wales. Suddenly
the train went through a tunnel and it went completely dark. A soggy
kissing noise and the sound of a really loud slap. When the train came
out of the tunnel, Claudia Schiffer and the Scotsman were sitting as if nothing had happened and the Englishman had his hand against his face as he had been slapped.

The Englishman was thinking: 'The Scottish fella must have kissed Claudia Schiffer and she missed him and slapped me instead.'

Claudia Schiffer was thinking: 'The English fella must have tried to kiss me and actually kissed the Scotsman and got slapped for it.'

And
the Scotsman was thinking: 'This is great. The next time the train goes
through a tunnel I'll make that soggy kissing noise and slap that
English b**tard again.

And even the Polish.

Did you hear about the Polock who thought asphalt was a rectal problem?

And did you know there is no ice in Poland?

They lost the recipe...

In Memory of Daniel M. Van Laere

~~~~ A 2996 - 9-11 Tribute ~~~~
RIP
In Memory of Daniel M. Van Laere (46) September 11, 2001
"You're only young once, but you can be immature forever"
One liner Daniel used - remembered by Elizabeth
Collins and her father. - Sept 12, 2002 - ...
Those who never had the opportunity to meet Daniel Van Laere during his sojourn on earth missed out on meeting an instant friend. I feel I have.
Growing up in Glen Rock N.J. He had a neighbor who was on the Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Dept. Daniel's brother, Paul said, "We grew up seeing Bobby Barton running off to fires all the time and I guess it just captured Dan's imagination. He loved the whole aspect of it - the trucks, the equipment, the potential of fighting fires and helping people."
At 18, Daniel Van Laere became a Glen Rock firefighter. Soon he was teaching rescue courses at the Bergen County Fire Academy.
His mother's house has a photo on the wall of a raging fire in a lumber yard. The picture shows Daniel Van Laere in the basket of a 60-foot boom atop a truck, feeding water down onto the flames.
Daniel Van Laere had risked his life for others as a firefighter for the Glen Rock Fire Department. That fateful day Daniel was not working as a fireman but as a risk analyst and underwriter at Aon Insurance. His office was on the 92nd floor of the South World Trade Center Tower The south tower was the second one to be hit. The hijacked airliner hit on the 78th through 84th floors. People working on higher floors than Daniel escaped because they saw people jumping from the north tower and left before the terrorists slammed their plane into the second building... About 1,400 people evacuated the upper floors before the second jet hit. Unfortunatly Daniel was not among them.
- I'm willing to believe that Daniel was helping others when the end came for him. He was that kind of person. -
Follows are some quotes from friends and relatives of Daniel's that can be found on 9-11 remembrance websites.
~~~~~

Dan was a wonderful and unique person. He could see things for what they were, and knew exactly how to take control of a situation without offending others.

He had a fine balance of qualities that were his greatest assets throughout his life. Dan was sincere, honest, kind and compassionate: all traits that drew people to him. He earned trust and loyalty from friends thru the actions he displayed. Dan was always there to lend support to his family, neighbors, business associates and
friends - he always made time to help, contributing his full attention.

Dan had two credos that he repeated often, both delivered with his own brand of humor.

"No good deed goes unpunished." which only goes to prove that he gave of himself to others without expectations.

"Peace at any price." This, Dan actually said, was his Father's line but Dan adopted it. Dan always chose his words and actions carefully because he was very much concerned with the feelings of others.

Dan believed in helping those in need, whether it was a neighbor in need of first aid, a friend in need of comfort, or a lost dog looking for its way home. If the cause was real, then, Dan would give his all to do what was right: he was pure of heart.

Dan left a lasting impression on his business associates as being a fun, compassionate person who added a little life and enjoyment to the office. Dan treated others as they themselves would like to be treated. He believed that with respect and encouragement, everyone could succeed.

From the fiancee of Daniel Van Laere -

I have never looked at any of the world trade center sites before. As I read and cry I just wanted to say some things. Dan was and still is my "cool" uncle. I loved his sense of humor and going for trips in his camero (90's). He was laid back and fun to be around. He has two sisters, one brother, five nieces, and two newphews. He will always be in our memories. - Amanda Wiley - 2006-04-28 -

~~~~~
I officially met Dan during an interview for RBH insurance co. That was about 10 years ago. I don't know if you could even call that an interview. Dan was soo easy going that he made me feel so calm and even began his joking with me during this interview. That was around 1991. From that moment, Dan and I became fast friends. We spent time in the office talking about friends and family and laughing. Just laughing. Dan always made me laugh. - Mary Anne Fielding -
I grew up with Danny. He was one of my brother's best friends. He and I were Groomsmen in my brothers wedding.
Even though I had not seen Danny in a number of years, I have been affected deeply by his passing.
To those who didn't know Danny, there is so much I could tell you, anecdotes, examples of his character, but it still would not truly convey what a special guy he was.
Danny was real. He was honest. He had an incredible sense of humor. He was generous. He helped people without a second's hesitation. I have many memories of him hearing the fire siren, dropping eveything he was doing and driving to the firestation. Not
only did he help people, but he was low key about it. He wasn't doing it for glory, he just did it because it had to be done. He loved his dogs, his boat, and his family. - John Barillo -
From what I've learned of Daniel Van Laere I'm confident he would not want those who know him and love him to grieve long nor hard.
My prayer is that Daniel's family and indeed all the families of those
lost on 9-11 find the peace that surpasses all understanding. May the
Living God guard their hearts and minds from interminable grief that
would try to handicap them through the rest of their journey on this
planet. - May the Lord Jesus bless them with grace and mercy and fill
their hearts with love and laughter. May time lessen the hurt and in
the future may they share with others the comfort they receive.
- In Jesus' name - - - Amen.
Thoughts on the other "2,996" tributes
Jason of 'Shock and Blog' fame has really nailed it. Blog surfing the tributes has been quite a rollercoaster ride. Jason says this about that:
I've been reading some of the other "2,996" tributes - about 2 or 3 dozen so far - and I've come to the following conclusions:
1) 9/11 robbed us of many beautiful people of all walks of life.
2) "2,996" is proving that there are still many beautiful people of all walks of life in this world.
3) Many of those lost have left behind legacies that will continue to touch lives well after all of us who lived through that horrible day are gone.
4) Though terrorists may kill us, they will never win.
Well said Jason!
You CAN Blogpost For 9-11 Victims!
- This post will remain on top until 9-11 - Please scroll down for more recent articles. -
A good friend, Cary Cartter, has posted about the 2996 project and at first I ignored it.
I don't know anyone who died that day although I do know people that know people that died. How could I post about someone I don't know anything about? I did feel a twinge of guilt over not joining in. After all my friend Cary said I should in his post. Here is someone I trust telling me I should do something that I don't want to do. I hate that.
Well, I finally clicked on the button he provided to see what would be expected of me. Lo and behold it is all set up nice and easy and just waiting for me to put my name in the hopper. Resources are set up so either a name available is chosen or 'quickpicked' (I got the 'quickpick') and from there a Resource Page is presented with the name filled in and ready to click on.
The "I don't know any of these people" excuse was demolished by the organizers of this project.
Now it is up to bloggers worldwide to join in. On Sept 11, 2006 there will be 2996 bloggers posting about a victim of 9-11. Anyone blogsurfing on that day will be reminded that innocents died, heroes died and the guilty died.
Click the button below and join in!
Update - I was sort of rushed this morn when I first posted this and I wanted to add:
There is still a need for people to blog about victims on that day we all remember so well. as of the time of posting this update there are 1376 volunteers who have chosen or recieved a name. Please join it and make this 9-11 remembrance really come home for people. Yourself included.
This is not a political or border issue. Anyone, no matter the politics and from any country, can join in. This is not about the current situations in various countries or how we feel about them. This is not about our persoanl blogs and promoting ourselves. It is about a tribute to those who prematurely went to their graves.
Please give a bit of your time and talent for this project. I'm sold on it and I'm certain you will be too.
Iraq AND Vietnam Are Similar! - IF -
I saw an interesting cartoon in the Press Telegram today. It
is a cartoon by
Mike Smith of the Las Vegas Sun dated Sept
1, 2006... - I've linked to it below but cannot guarantee how long it will stay up on the website. Or how long they will let me link to it...
- I did save it to my hard drive for historical purposes... -
It shows a sign saying, Today's speaker: Donald Rumsfeld.
Rumsfeld is behind a podium saying,
"CRITICS OF THE WAR IN IRAQ HAVEN'T LEARNED THE LESSONS OF HISTORY."
-
- A member of the audience is saying to another member,
"REMIND ME TO SEND HIM THE HISTORY OF THE
VIETNAM WAR."
~~~~~~

I wish someone would send the CUT AND RUN CROWD the history of what happened after the last helicopter left the U.S. embassy in Vietnam! - Many Vietnamese prefered taking a chance on drowning in leaky boats trying to escape the carnage. - Many did drown! - Cambodia had it's killing fields as a result of our leaving. - I met a Cambodian woman who told of watching her mother and sister raped and murdered as a result of the
Khmer Rouge

- The Cambodian carnage was a direct result of our leaving Vietnam... -

Of course Vietnam is now our friend and
we purchase all sorts of lovely items from them. But at the time they were taken over by a wicked, evil, mean and nasty group of communists that murdered anyone they wanted to. Except their own of course because they knew the

'One True Way to Enlightenment' (without God of course!)

Which is all (living) people get to share whatever they own! - Whether they like it or not!

- (Dead people freely relinquish their stuff to the state) -

Anyway. I would like to remind those people that try to compare Iraq to Vietnam that it does not NOW work as a comparison. If we pull out now (no matter what you say about the reasons for our going in!) it will result in a mass murder of EVERY GOOD PERSON IN THE COUNTRY!!!!!!!

- Terrorism will find the space near empty and jump into it. - Only if we pull out will the comparison of Iraq and Vietnam be true! -

IT IS NOT ANOTHER VIETNAM NOW BUT COULD BE!!!

May their blood be on your hands if you vote for Democrats...

Elections Are Coming Up!

In a battle for a Congress seat two candidates were shooting charges back and forth, left and right, up and down. At the same time they were making promises that even God would find difficult to fulfill.

"That sure is some duel they are having", said one likely voter to another citizen.

"Duel is right", said the citizen. "Only in this duel they should be using manure shovels at twenty paces."

prying1 has Switched To Beta Blogger

Well, I took the plunge and switched to Beta Blogger. - I'm
not sure how much I will like/dislike the experience. So far, so good.
But all I've done is post one time and this posting will make the second. I do like the new method of spell check. Works for me anyway... I have seen a glitch in the insert link button. That will get fixed soon I'm sure.

One major problem I quickly found is in commenting. Those Google blogspot bloggers that have not upgraded to beta, do not use Haloscan and have their comments
non-anonymous, that is, they are set up to say, "This blog does not allow anonymous comments" will not allow me comment. Those that do allow anonymous comments I can chose 'other' and fill in my info. That is put my blogging name (prying1) and my website address (which has not changed one jot nor tittle) into the spaces provided.

In doing a little research I found there are some workarounds. One is to create a new blogger account and sign up in that one when commenting. - Another will be to email the person with the comment and ask them to post it if they will.

Sometimes, hopefully not often, one will come across a blogger friend that does not allow anonymous comments, does not have an email posted and for the life of you, you cannot remember if you have ever communicated through emails to search for his address.

When that happens a good workaround would be to post a message to him on your blog and ask your blogger friends that can comment to visit him (hint! hint!) and ask him to email you or visit the post.

So here it is: HEY SENOR PEERPRESSURE!- EMAIL ME!

target="_blank">Concerning your post on the Bush assassination
movie
I wanted to comment with this:

Reading the thoughts of some of these lefties makes me wonder if they even really
think. I imagine that the majority were not around when JFK was shot and killed.

I was in 6th grade at the time and was being raised as a good Republican. I knew that JFK was a Democrat and needed to be replaced in the next election. I did not like him even though he was a Catholic (as was I at the time).

When he was shot and killed it was not a time of rejoicing for the Republicans.

Shock! Grief! Anger at the murderer! In my small circle of school and neighborhood friends I knew of no one that was thrilled.

Nor did anyone make jokes about it.

Had I known anyone that was glad of the assassination I would certainly
have known they were evil in heart and avoided being around them.

These people just might be total reprobates. I hope not and may God, in His
Mercy, reveal to them a better road than the one they are on.

P.S.
For those of you who have switched to Beta.Blogger.Beta - Join the Blogger Help Group - It will come in handy...

Update - Senor Peer Pressure has been contacted - Whoo Hooo!

From the CNN.com article with the title, Mexico's president-elect appeals for
unity

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- Defeated leftist candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador
rejected a court decision awarding Mexico's presidency to Felipe
Calderon, insisting he will never recognize his rival's legitimacy and
vowing to create a parallel government from the streets.
......
Lopez Obrador's
supporters threw trash at the headquarters of Mexico's Federal
Electoral Tribunal, whose seven magistrates voted unanimously Tuesday
to declare Calderon president-elect.

Who Is Guilty In the Valerie Plame Affair?

Washington Times - Rowan Scarborough - Headline: The flameout of the Plame game -

If you do not know anything about the Valerie Plame affair I suggest you go read the article for the full and 'end of story' obituary. DO NOT BOTHER BUYING ANY BOOKS ON THIS!!!!
From the article

The expectation on the left that the Valerie Plame affair would blossom into another Watergate, bringing down a second Republican presidency, has fizzled.
Liberals expected that convictions of one or more persons in the Bush administration for leaking or confirming to columnist Robert Novak that Mrs. Plame, the wife of Bush critic Joseph C. Wilson IV, was an undercover CIA operative. Echoing Mr. Wilson's claims, prominent liberals and leftists, most of them in the press, accused the White House of orchestrating a smear, and sought to drive Karl Rove either out of office or into prison, or both.
Three years on, none of that has happened, and the "scandal" is played out.
~~~~~~
But in the end, the exhaustive investigation produced no criminal charges against any official for leaking Mrs. Plame's name in violation of the 1982 Intelligence Identities Protection Act. Moreover, it has recently emerged that the official who first revealed her name to Mr. Novak, for a July 2003 column, was not a White House official, but Richard Armitage, who was deputy secretary of state to Colin L. Powell.
~~~~~~
Mr. Armitage, now in private business, had never publicly acknowledged his role in the previous three years.
~~~~~~
Internet bloggers wrote hopefully of many indictments. One blogger even reported that Mr. Rove had been indicted, which he had not.
~~~~~~
Tom Matzzie, Washington director of the leftist MoveOn.org wrote in July 2005, "This conspiracy clearly reaches into the highest levels of our government. This could be among the worst presidential scandals in our history. ... Again, we call on the president to keep his promise and fire Karl Rove. How long will the cover-up continue?"
~~~~~~
Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean likened the scandal to Watergate, which brought down President Richard Nixon.
~~~~~~
Stacie Paxton, a spokesman for the committee, argues now that the Armitage disclosure does not vindicate the White House of misconduct.
~~~~~~
An early newspaper story asserted that two White House officials actively contacted six Washington reporters to reveal Mrs. Plame's identify and that she worked at the CIA. This was accepted as fact by liberal bloggers.
~~~~~~
The Senate investigators reported that Mr. Wilson did, in fact, find evidence that an Iraqi overture to buy yellowcake may have occurred. To Republicans, this meant Mr. Wilson's op-ed in the New York Times -- the essay that triggered the whole affair -- was inaccurate, just as Mr. Libby contended to Mrs. Miller that it was.
~~~~~~
The Wilsons are now represented by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
~~~~~~
Melanie Sloan, executive director and a former Democratic Senate and House staffer, said in an e-mail to The Washington Times it's wrong to infer that Mr. Wilson was sent to Niger on the suggestion of his wife. The Senate report "clearly indicates that the CIA decided to send Wilson to Niger." (HUH!!!)
~~~~~~
Ms. Sloan said the Armitage disclosure does not affect the Wilson lawsuit, "which is premised on the deliberate and unlawful actions of top White House officials to publicly discredit Mr. Wilson and retaliate against him by deliberately disclosing the classified identity of Ms. Wilson. Mr. Armitage's conduct in no way alters the fact that VP Cheney, Mr. Libby and Mr. Rove were engaged in a concerted effort to violate the rights of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson and they should be held accountable for their actions."
prying1 sez:
It seems that there were lots and lots of people that are/were guilty in the Valerie Plame Affair. Their credibility is shot. With many they never had any in spite of appearances at the time...
Richard Armitage, ex-deputy secretary of state to Colin L. Powell and now in private business, could have stepped forward a bit sooner. Remember that when you see his name in print. Especially if it is on a contract and your money is on the line.
Bottom line is Bush Hatred started this nonsense and that plus love of money will try to keep it going. - Fact is, "The Valerie Plame Affair is Dead!" May it soon be buried.
~~~~~~
Hattip to Hugh Hewitt for leading me to the article - Thanks Hugh! -
