I have found the best way to deal with political correctness is to laugh at it. HOWEVER there are sometimes when it ceases to be funny. - What is wrong with this picture. 200+ pound ex-football player that was found to have a shiv one day is guarded by a 50 year old grandmother the next day. Adding males to a police force decreases the number of civilians accidentally shot by police. Adding black males decreases civilian shootings by police even more. By contrast, adding white female officers increases accidental shootings. (And for my Handgun Control Inc. readers: Private citizens are much less likely to accidentally shoot someone than are the police, presumably because they do not have to approach the suspect and make an arrest.)
In addition to accidentally shooting people, female law enforcement officers are also more likely to be assaulted than male officers � as the whole country saw in Atlanta last week. Political Correctness can be funny at times. Had a woman get mad at me when I stepped in front of her to open a door and so I stepped back. Then she found out the door was stuck. I had to yank hard to open it. Most women appreciate the gesture. It is just a few that are silly that way. But this few seemed to have affected the world in a negative manner so that men find themselves stepping on eggshells, not sure if this gal in front of them is one of 'those'.
